Happy Leap Day!

An extra day in our life, well, at least in the calendar year... it's Leap Day today - and with that there's an old, old tradition dating back to the 5th century where the story goes that in Ireland St. Brigid was complaining to St. Patrick about the inequality of women not being able to propose to a man. So, St. Patrick declared that every Leap Day, women could propose.

"Leap" forward to 1288... when Queen Margaret declared that on February 29 a woman had the right to pop the question to any man she fancied AND Menfolk who refused were faced with a fine in the form of a kiss, a silk dress, or a pair of gloves given to the rejected lady fair (supposedly to hide the empty ring finger).

So, ladies, if you're feeling really bold... today is the day. Regardless of bold or not... Happy Leap Day! (and enjoy a little 1908 British postcard humor about Leap Day).

Real Wedding - Sarah and James

It's Mardi Gras today and we thought it was fitting that we had a real wedding with a fleur-de-lis from a bride from New Orleans! We met Sarah and James and her mom and grandmother last summer and she knew she wanted a fleur-de-lis on the invitation because it was an important part of her life. The invitation is thermographed (yes, we do that as well!) and with the pewter pocket, soft butter metallic paper and the purple, it was a stunning invitation and paper suite. The wedding was a November wedding at Castleton Farms and they even had a custom-made S'Mores bar (yum!). Enjoy the awesome photos from Waldorf Photgraphic Art!

Murfreesboro Pink Bridal Show

We just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who came by our booth yesterday at the Murfreesboro Pink Bridal Show! We had a great day with you! Here's a quick look at our booth from yesterday!

2012 Fall Color Report

Today kicks off Fashion Week in NYC - and if you've read our blog for a while, you know that means that it's time for the Fall Color Report come out from PANTONE. As *the* color people, each spring and fall they release their predictions for hot colors of the season. In turn, those colors manifest themselves everywhere. As you'd expect, the 2012 Color of the Year, Tangerine Tango is right there amongst the colors as well as fabulous colors to coordinate with it... or if you're just not a tangerine kind of person, check out the other color combinations that we've already seen as really hot colors for the year. Titanium is fabulous with so many of the colors - imagine it with the yellow/gold, chartreuse or pink. Or in our previous blog of the day, the blush and titatium gray. Sooo romantic. For some really bright, happy summer moments, the chartreuse, hot pink and tangerine --- makes me want to have a picnic! Off we go to imagine incredibly cool paper goods with these colors!

Romantic Pink and Silver...

Today's blog is all about taking timeless colors like pink and silver and the romance they can bring to your paper goods. Crystal wanted the wedding to be romantic and intimate, so we used metallic papers of ivory and silver with the lightest of pinks to accent... check out the wonderful photos by Justin Wright of the invitation suite (and fabulous wrap address label) as well as the program and then head over to Cedarwood's blog for the rest of the photos of the day and I promise you'll be all in love today.
