We're stopping in for a short post about Candi and Chris' Cedarwood wedding has been published in the Weddings, UK magazine. It's been the busiest of spring seasons we've ever had and we're looking forward to sharing the amazing work we've been doing. Great Gatsby, Amazing Wedding on Style Me Pretty today!

Epic. Vintage. Love. That's Mike and Lisa's wedding at Historic Cedarwood. Blush and Champagne coloring and styling that F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote about in the Great Gatsby... We designed a champagne pocket for all the details of the big day and complimented the invitation suite with circle menus, pennant programs that doubled as flags and a guest book for guests to sign as witnesses. Sound amazing? Then, you have to see the styling photos of Cedarwood's front lawn with sheers blowing in the wind, cafe lights in the trees and so many amazing details captured wonderfully by Krista Lee Photography. Liz and Steve's Wedding

Sometimes having less on your paper goods makes them stand out. That's how I feel about today's wedding on the blog. When we met Liz, her vision of her and Steve's invitations were - simple, reflects our fall wedding and is rustic/natural. And we love it... and we think you will too. With wildflowers, herbs and the backdrop of Cedarwood, we think it was just the essence of a rustic fall wedding celebration. Jessica & Tommy: Real Wedding

Hello Monday! We're starting the week off with an amazing wedding we were a part of a couple of months ago. Set at Cedarwood with a different look for the barn than normal, this intimate affair was just amazing. Meet Jessica and Tommy - and their dogs. We had the pleasure of making some totally different goods for their big day - signs for their dogs to wear and an oh-so-amazing quilt as their guest book. Real Wedding: Karen and Ty

We love the opportunity to do things for a couple's wedding day that's different and blends their invitation to the rest of the style of the wedding. And, we love getting to see how it all turns out since we aren't at the wedding. SO, today's wedding is all of that. Karen and Ty have a love story across the US - and we thank them for allowing us to be a part of their big day. We made a large guest book poster of their invitation for their guests to sign - and check out the before and after shots! Love getting to see both of those! More Megan & Kevin Real Wedding Details

There were so many awesome details of Megan & Kevin's wedding to share! First, we have to share the so-uber-fabulous guest book idea. Oftentimes, the guest book is the hardest thing to figure out since you may not want a book that will just sit on a shelf... Megan called to ask if we could do a cutout of their logo - and just look at what she made for their guest book! I couldn't wait to get some photos to be able to post them!


The second detail for today's post is the unique way that Megan honored those who were no longer with them. They had notes that had been written to Megan (or about Megan since one was before she was born...) and we took those hand-written letters, transferred them to tissue paper and made a flower that fit into Megan's bouquet. How incredibly special - and I must say the coolest thing we have ever done to help honor loved ones.

Kristen and Donald Real Wedding

We wanted to share a couple of photos of Kristen and Donald's paper goods from their summer wedding - and highlight that we do so much more than invitations! Kristen and Donald wanted a guest book poster that complimented their invitation highlighted Historic Cedarwood. So, we took photos of Cedarwood's barn, house, and truck and converted them to sketches... and viola! A guest book poster! Also, we made little signs for their fabulous favors - homemade applesauce! Customized Guest Books with Polaroid’s, Scrapbooks, and MyPublisher

As you all know by now, Designs In Paper is all about custom designed wedding details. This is one of the most wonderful and remembered days of you life so why be like everyone else. Every aspect of your wedding should reflect you and your honey’s personality and style. If you are like us, you cringe at the thought of another tufted white satin guest book with ribbons, pearls, rhinestones topped off with a white plumed pen. EEEK! The latest trend is to do a Guest Book that is a real keepsake for you, the bride and groom. There are several options for this.

Polaroids and Photo Booths:

A huge trend right now is using a couple of Polaroid cameras, double sided tape, and a blank scrapbook. Guests can take photos of themselves, stick them to a blank page, and write well wishes to the couple all around the photo.
For those of you lucky gals renting a photo booth, have the guests use the photo boot images to stick in the book and sign the page.

Scrapbooks:
Another option is to just make a cute scrapbook of the couple and leave the one page as blank piece of paper so that guests can sign the book.

MyPublisher:

You could create a professional bound book using MyPublisher.com. This is a really cool site that you can use to make books, cards, and calendars. At first glance, these are just photo books but we see creative opportunities! You download the MyPublisher program. Upload you photos and build the book. You can choose from several different styles, covers, and photo lay outs. The sky is the limit. We really like them clean and simple. If you want lines for the guest signing page you will need some type of photo editing software or PowerPoint (ex below). There are several places you can download free fonts on the net. Just do a search for free fonts. Download and install them and use them to create your guest signing page. To create a photo image in PowerPoint just create the slide the way you want it to look and do a Save As and name you file and in the Save As box select JPG. It will ask you if you want to save the current slide or all slides and if you only have one slide click current and your done. Upload all of the images into the MyPublisher program and then just drag the photos into place. This is a great way to have a professional keepsake that your guests will love. Keep in mind; the pages are slick so you will need Sharpies or another permanent option for the guests to use to sign the pages. Did I mention the amazing price?! These bad boys are $29.80! That price gets you a linen covered (color of your choice), 8.75 X 11.25 landscape book and includes 20 pages. There are several book companies out there if you don’t like what MyPublisher offers. We have printed a book with MyPublisher and were very satisfied with their service and quality so that’s why we are writing about them in this post.
