Grand Scale Paper...

So I was tooling around the web the other day and came across the photos from the Chanel website of a recent fashion show they did... and as you can imagine - loved all of the paper (though I am pretty sure it would not be as fun to wear a paper head adornment like that!). So, I thought they would be cool to share - imagine the hours - especially if you've seen our blog about the wedding dress we did (look in our archives for it...) and then compare that to the grand scale of this work. Enjoy!

Seeing Red (ie, Happy Valentine's Day!)

We were thinking of Valentine's Day this week and all of the color combinations that red works great with. It's an amazing versatile color ( remember the fall season that everyone was talking about red being the new black? ) So, we thought we'd put together a few samples of red with some color combinations you might not immediately think of - that are a little more impulsive, bright, and contemporary as well as some classic samples to show off red since it's the color of February for so many reasons.
Happy Valentine's Day - make sure you tell all the people you love how much you love them and give them a hug (either in person or virtually!)

2009 Trends

In the last couple of weeks, we've had the pleasure of getting to see sneak peaks of a variety of products, companies, etc. all eagerly getting products to market for 2009. So we thought we'd do a re-cap of trends we've been noticing on the web and through the sneak peaks.

Color - We've already posted the Pantone Color of the Year and we saw it with combined with a number of colors very similar to our swatches we put together. Another really big color for the year is gray... Gray and just about every color! Here's some of our samples..

Gray with lime green for a late afternoon wedding... or with lime green and sunshine orange for a fun birthday party invitation..

Or gray with a deep eggplant or purple accent for a more formal event...

Along with the color trends, there is a continuing trend of doodles or hand-drawn elements across the board from notecards, scrapbook papers, wedding invitations, etc.

Some of the elements are still fairly consistent looking like our flourish sample...

While others are more random, looking more freehand as our lingerie shower invitation..

Regardless of the type, they are definitely going to be popping up all over the design scene this year!
