2009 Trends

In the last couple of weeks, we've had the pleasure of getting to see sneak peaks of a variety of products, companies, etc. all eagerly getting products to market for 2009. So we thought we'd do a re-cap of trends we've been noticing on the web and through the sneak peaks.

Color - We've already posted the Pantone Color of the Year and we saw it with combined with a number of colors very similar to our swatches we put together. Another really big color for the year is gray... Gray and just about every color! Here's some of our samples..

Gray with lime green for a late afternoon wedding... or with lime green and sunshine orange for a fun birthday party invitation..

Or gray with a deep eggplant or purple accent for a more formal event...

Along with the color trends, there is a continuing trend of doodles or hand-drawn elements across the board from notecards, scrapbook papers, wedding invitations, etc.

Some of the elements are still fairly consistent looking like our flourish sample...

While others are more random, looking more freehand as our lingerie shower invitation..

Regardless of the type, they are definitely going to be popping up all over the design scene this year!

2009 Color Trend Alert, Pantone's Mimosa

Okay ladies!!! This one is for all of you who are still trying to figure out your colors for your wedding. Pantone, the name in all things colored, has announced its color of the year. Mimosa!

What a stunning color! This may look to just be a spring or summer color but by mixing it up a little we believe that you could take this all the way through winter. Check out the color pallets we came up with for each season below. We came up with some traditional selections for the brides who want classic and elegant choices as well as some non-traditional for those brides who are more interested in contemporary, modern, and fun. After all, your day should reflect you and your soon to be husband’s personalities because your big day IS all about YOU.
Now obviously we are not suggesting you put your whole color scheme on your stationary, but knowing what your major colors are and then using really neat accent colors on the big day to pull the theme together is a great idea. We hope we have got those wheels turning!

This fall, grey and purple are everywhere and they make a beautiful combination. Have you ever wondered who comes up with the it colors that everyone in the design industry use? Well the company who decided what colors will be in your fall wardrobe is Pantone. I thought we might give you girls who are still trying to decide on your colors a sneak peek into what trends 2009 will bring us.

The Winning Week!

Thanks to all the brides and friends who stopped by our booth at the Weddings - The Bridal Show yesterday! It was great fun --- even for a long day! We're going to have great posts about the lucky winners this week, info about some of the new products we debuted and details about that cool paper dress we made - so check us out daily!

For today, we are giving away sets of calling cards to three lucky brides. You're thinking, what's a calling card and why would that be cool? Think funky, fun business cards with all your wedding info on them! How many wedding vendors (and even your friends and family) have asked you, tell me all about the details of your wedding... and you have to sit down and write them an email or let them take notes... No more! You just give them one of your cool calling cards and they have all the info right there!

We design them to coordinate with your colors and style of the wedding, so it's like your own portal inspiration board!

And... without further delay.... the lucky brides are:

Ellen Holman

Tiffany Smedley

Lisa Bailey

Congratulations - you'll be getting info from us to start work on your designs!

Stay tuned for tomorrow... photos of the bridal countdown calendar and info!
